Surface preparation is the most critical step. Clean the wall with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely before applying strips. Any oil, dust, or residue will dramatically reduce adhesion. Press the strip against the wall for 30 seconds with firm, even pressure — not just a quick touch. Most people underpress and wonder why the frame falls.

Wait the full hour (or the manufacturer's recommended cure time) before hanging anything. Hanging immediately after applying gives the adhesive less than half its rated strength. Hang in the correct position the first time — repositioning weakens the bond.
